About Renaissance Adult Day Center
Adult day care has become a solution for many family caregivers seeking senior care assistance. While adult day care offers interim care for family members, this care option also benefits seniors. The physical activity, social stimulation, and emotional connections help seniors connect to the world around them.
Why Should your loved one come to Renaissance?
Caring for an elderly family member can be very difficult and overwhelming. Not only do you have to attend to that family member’s personal and medical needs, but you need to tend to your own life. How will you be able to work a full-time job if you have to spend most of your time caring for say, your parent? And what if you have children and a spouse? They need you, too.
It is baffling that such a valuable service goes largely underused by the public. Six hours a day of adult day services is only about 20% of the cost of bringing someone into the home to provide services for the same number of hours. And having a loved one in a protected and stimulating environment can afford necessary rest to overloaded caregivers. Nurses and social workers on staff can provide necessary aid to those care recipients in need of medical and emotional attention.
In response to their gradual loss of independence, family members step up and become caregivers, assuming responsibility for guarding their health, safety, and dignity. Family caregivers (unpaid) provide 83% percent of the help provided to older adults. They also help mitigate other factors associated with increased dependency, such as loss of social outlets, loneliness, depression, and apathy. Many seniors have in their closest relative not only their sole caregiver but also their single source of social contact.
Adult day care has become a solution for many family caregivers seeking senior care assistance. While adult day care offers interim care for family members, this care option also benefits seniors. The physical activity, social stimulation, and emotional connections help seniors with dementia connect to the world around them, which often feels like a frightening or unfamiliar place.
Luckily, family caregivers can find assistance and much-needed respite in the form of adult daycares. Unlike assisted-living facilities or nursing homes in which a patient lives full time, adult daycares operate during the day and offer special services, programs, and activities to keep their members engaged.
